It's Who We Pray To

II Thessalonians 3:1-5 Pray or Perish Part 3

I. The Lord is faithful. Matt 11:28, 1 Pet 5:6-7, Rev 3:20, Ps 145:18, John 14:13, Prov 25:19, Heb 12:14

II. He can do what we can not. Philip 1:6, Matt 17:17-21, John 6:44, Rom 8:34

III. We need to grow in our confidence in Him through:
a. The Word. Rom 10:17, 8:5
b. The work of the Holy Spirit.
c. Praying and watching God answer.

When We Pray, Strongholds Come Down

II Thessalonians 3:1-5 Pray or Perish, Part 2

I. "Run Swiftly" means no obstacles. Unreasonable means out of place. There are many out of place obstacles that often stronghold us. Heb 13:9, I Thes 2:18, Mat 16:24, Ps 63:7 - 36:7-8, 2 Tim 3:1, Rom 8:6, Gal 5:17

II. "Deliverance" means rescue or the ides of a current. Prayer brings deliverance through the moving of the Holy Spirit. Eph 6, John 7:37, Luke 11:9

III. "Faith" means reliance on Christ for salvation. Those with faith need our prayers to help bring them to Jesus. 2 Cor 5:9

When We Pray, God Moves

II Thessalonians 3:1-5 Pray or Perish, Part 1

I. "Finally" means there is something remaining. Too often prayer is the one thing we leave remaining undone. I Thes 5:17, Acts 1:14, Rev 3:17, Luke 11:9, James 4:3, Rom 15:30, Eph 6:18-20, Philippians 1:19, Col 4:2-3, 1 Thess 5:25

II. "To Pray" means to supplicate and worship. It also means to stand between. God is looking for people to stand in the gap for our hurting world. Ez 22:30, 2 Tim 2:3, Acts 2:37-42 - 3:7 - 6:7 - 9:22

III. "Swiftly" means to have free course or to move forward without obstacles. When we pray, God moves forward in mighty ways.

Abiding In Truth

II Thessalonians 2:13-16

1. But, we give thanks for the truth. (vs. 13-14)

2. Therefore, stand fast in the truth. (vs. 15)
Eph 2:8-9, Rom 10:13, I John 3:2
