1 Samuel 7:1-17

I. We must acknowledge our sin and cry out in humility to God for help. (vs. 1-2)

II. We must listen to the instruction of God. (v.3)

A. Give God your whole heart.
B. Fully turn from sin.
C. Serve the Lord only.

III. We must act on the instruction of God. (4-6) James 5:16, 1 John 1:9, La 2:19

IV. We must continue in the instruction of God. (vs. 7-17)

Pushing Away the Lord

1 Samuel 5-6

I. Many foolishly think that they can stand up to God in themselves. (5:1-4) Pr 14:34, Ps 79:6, Phillipians 2:10

II. Often when individuals are convicted, they try to ignore God or push away any connection with God. (5:5-6:12) Ps 107:17

III. As believers we can only fellowship with God based on His terms, otherwise we to will be pushing Him away. (6:13-21)
