Hearing the Voice of God

1 Samuel 3:1-21

I. How do we hear the voice of God? (1-9) Prov 20:25
A. We must walk with God.
B. We must be still before God.
C. We must sincerely ask God.

II. How do we know for sure it's God's voice that we are hearing? (5-14, 21) II Tim 3:16
A. Confirmation comes from the Bible. Dt 29:19
B. Confirmation comes from His Spirit.

III. What do we do with what we hear? (15-21)
A. We respond and ________, lest we harden our __________ to His voice in the future.

A Weighty Matter

1 Samuel 2:11-36

I. Our call as Christians is to serve and minister to the Lord first, not ourselves. (11-18) Matt 6:31, 16:24, Lev 7:22
II. Our call as parents is to put the Lord first, not ourselves or are children. (19-26) Prov 22:15, 23:13, 13:24: 29:17
III. Honor the Lord in these things and He will honor you. Don't honor Him and He won't honor you. (27-36)

We Have a Situation

1 Samuel 1:1-2:10

I. In the midst of a "situation", we must remember that God loves us and that he sees the big picture. (1:1-1:7)
Rom 8:28, Jer 29:11

II. When we lay our "situation" down, God will pick it up. (1:8-1:18)

III. When God picks our "situation" up, He works it for good. (1:19-2:10)
